The Parmentine brand was created in 1998. At the beginning, there were several producers from Champagne and Beauce who decided to share their know-how and their means of production to help people appreciate fresh potatoes. Today, we are a network of more than 400 producers located in the best terroirs of France: in Beauce, Champagne, Brittany, Picardy, the South West and Provence. We have 5 washing, sorting and packaging facilities based in the heart of our production areas. We distribute our potatoes throughout France and Europe.

Quite a story!
The history of the potato begins about 8000 years ago in South America. They grew on the high plateaus of the Andes and were cultivated by the Incas. It was in the 16th century that the potato was brought back to Europe by the explorers of the New World, but it was not until the 18th century that its nutritional qualities were finally recognised by Antoine – Augustin Parmentier. Thanks to his ingenuity and persistence, he succeeded in promoting the potato in France and its cultivation then became widespread!
